Emotional wellness is the ability to handle life’s stressors without being consumed by them. Emotions are not a bad thing; on the contrary they help us discover our authentic self. Stress in small amounts for example can motivate us. Or grief has a process we naturally go through, with all the ebbs and flows. However, when we become so overwhelmed that it is hard to function, then it is time to take some action. Better yet, practice emotional wellness as a preventative.
